The start of my journey developing for the Apple iPhone.

I have officially purchased a Macbook Pro 15″

The specs are as follows:

  • Intel Core 2 Duo – 2.53GHz
  • 4GB of 1066MHZ RAM
  • 320GB Hard Drive @ 7200RPM
  • Nvidia Geforce 9400M

I must say that this machine is VERY well made. It feel extremely sturdy while still maintaining the beauty that Apple products are notorious for.

Last night, after downloading Xcode and the iPhone 3.0 SDK, I spent a couple of hours writing my very first iPhone app: “Hello World”

The process was very easy and, thanks to the interface builder, required no coding whatsoever.

Here is the end result of my “Hello World” app. I added a bunch of controls that do nothing just to see how the interface builder works.

Later tonight I will see if I can tie some of these interface objects to some real code and have them do something. I also ordered two books on Amazon that will hopefully teach me more about Objective-C and Cocoa.
