Variable Linear Voltage Regulator

This little circuit is a money saver! Before making it, I was looking for a varibale power supply for my projects and the prices were usually well above $100. It wasn’t until I went to the electro-tech-online.com forums and talked to some people there that I realized that I could just make my own power supply! So I did and this is it.

It provides up to +-12V DC. The reason I made it so it could provide + and – voltage was so that it could power those amplifiers that need a positive and negative voltage. To accomplish the regulation, I used two IC’s: LM317 and LM337. The voltage output of this circuit is variable, meaning I can control how much + and – voltage it provides by turning the potentiometers.

Is it me or does this circuit look like an X-wing from Star-Wars? I swear I did not do it on purpose!

If you have any questions about this circuit or how I made it, feel free to contact me and I will try to answer you to the best of my ability. I will try to update this post with what others have asked.
